Pair antique late Ming Dynasty woven reed trunks

Woven reed on elm.

Lacquer on leather covered top.

The patina and design indicate these trunks are from the late Ming Dynasty.

From Northern China.

Black, Gold and Red Lacquer designs

Bronze Mounted fittings.

Both trunks are in good condition ... but some minor marks and scratches.

Sizes 78 x 52 x 39 cm

and......72 x 46 x 28 cm

With the rich red, gold and black lacquer finish these trunks look a million dollars. (Far better than the images)

All the boundings (front and back) have gold decoration.

These are very high quality trunks ... I cannot find any as good on the internet.
